Gov. Brown’s proposed budget
Governor’s Budget Proposal Has Healthcare Implications in Calif.
Gov. Jerry Brown’s budget proposal contains many important components for healthcare in California. Among them:
- Allocation of $867 million for the full implementation of the Medi-Cal expansion.
- Decision not to pursue the retroactive “clawback” on the 10% cut to Medi-Cal providers, specifically, dentists, physicians and clinics, intermediate care facilities and some pharmaceuticals.
- Medi-Cal will completely exempt several classes of drugs (HIV/AIDs, oncology and hemophilia) from both the retroactive cuts and the future cuts.
