California Healthcare Institute (CHI) represents more than 275 leading biotechnology, diagnostics, medical device and pharmaceutical companies and public and private academic biomedical research organizations. The state's biomedical industry accounts for 268,000 California jobs and revenues from biomedical companies topped an estimated $114 billion in 2009. CHI's mission is to advance responsible public policies that foster medical innovation and promote scientific discovery.
