Meghan Drenan joined the California Healthcare Institute as associate director of federal government relations in September 2014. In this capacity, she assists in the development and implementation of outreach, education and legislative advocacy programs for CHI member companies and congressional delegation offices. She also supports the development of alliances with partner associations and other affiliate organizations.
Before joining CHI, Drenan spent five years in the office of U.S. Representative Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), a senior member of the House Committee on Energy & Commerce and current Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. During her tenure with Rep. Rogers, she rose quickly through the office to ultimately serve as Legislative Counsel, where she oversaw the Congressman’s work on the Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Health. Drenan worked on several legislative measures including the Pandemic All-Hazards Preparedness Reauthorization Act of 2013 and implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
A San Diego native, Drenan holds a law degree from the St. Louis University School of Law and bachelor’s degrees in political science and history from Miami University in Ohio.
