Christina Hwee serves as CHI-California Healthcare Institute’s State Government Affairs Associate. She is responsible for scheduling legislative visits, managing CHI’s Political Action Committee (PAC), assisting with advocacy efforts, coordinating tours and roundtables, strengthening partnerships with state legislative caucuses and working alongside the patient community.
Prior to joining CHI, Hwee served as the Deputy Campaign Manager for Senator Dr. Richard Pan (D-Sacramento), former Chair of the Health Committee in the State Assembly and current Chair of the Public Employment and Retirement Committee in the State Senate. Hwee was responsible for developing strategy and marketing plans, bringing together stakeholders and organizing volunteers to help coordinate efforts in support of Dr. Pan’s 2014 contentious election. Before working for Dr. Pan, she was a Legislative Aide in then—Assemblymember Dr. Pan’s office as well as an intern in the Office of U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) in Washington, D.C.
Hwee received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science/Law and Society from the University of California, Riverside.
