CHI NEWS: CHI Opposes Requiring HHS Secretary to Negotiate Medicare Part D Drug Prices
Yesterday, CHI endorsed a non-interference letter sent to all members of Congress, regarding our strong opposition to requiring the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to negotiate prescription drug prices in the Medicare Part D program.
CHI has historically opposed this proposal to allow the government to negotiate prices under Medicare Part D, which would undermine a successful and popular program and fail to yield real savings unless the government imposes access or coverage restrictions on medicines, which would harm Medicare beneficiaries.
The non-interference group letter was endorsed by 388 organizations.
