Gen-Probe CEO Carl Hull Weighs in on Medical Device Tax and Healthcare Reform

KPBS Radio ran an interview today with CHI board member Carl Hull, president and chief executive officer of San Diego-based Gen-Probe Incorporated, on the impact of the proposed medical device tax on the biomedical industry. California employs about a third of all American workers in the medical device industry. Hull said the proposed tax would likely force Gen-Probe to cut research and development and would hit smaller companies even harder, ultimately forcing them to cut jobs.
