Roche Unveils New Cancer Drug Data

CHI member Roche unveiled results from its new cancer drug studies at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting held in Orlando, Fla. Roche's new cancer treatment, a combination of its Herceptin and chemotherapy known as trastuzumab-DM1,showed 35 percent of 112 patients studied in this mid-stage trial shrunk tumors, or stabilized the progression of disease for at least six months. Roche also found the new drug showed to reduce the size of tumors in 25 percent of women with HER2-positive breast cancer.
