CHI Signs Letter to Governor Concerning R&D Tax Credit Changes
Submitted on:
09.25.2008
CHI joined Advancing the Business of Technology (AeA), BIOCOM, California Manufacturers & Technology Association, California Space Authority, Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) and TechNet
to send a letter to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, which expressed concerns about significant changes to the California research and development tax credit included in AB 1452. This change will prohibit companies engaged in research and development from using up to 50 percent of their tax credits for two years. The research and development tax credit is one of California's most important and effective incentives for retaining high wage and skilled jobs in the state. These changes can adversely affect the investment climate for California.
