Devin Whitney

Devin Whitney joined CHI in April 2011 as associate director of state government affairs. Whitney’s duties in the Sacramento office include the lobbying of bills, development and implementation of outreach/education and legislative advocacy programs, as well as building and maintaining alliances with CHI member companies, partner associations and other affiliate organizations.

Whitney most recently served as the director of Northwest government affairs for TechAmerica (formerly the American Electronics Association) in the Sacramento office, which represents the high-tech industry in California's Capitol. ere, he oversaw all aspects of government affairs lobbying in Alaska, Washington, Colorado, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and Nevada, along with contract lobbyists in Oregon, Washington and Colorado.

Previously, Whitney served in the legislative advocacy division of the California Chamber of Commerce, where he worked closely with the lobbying team, and focused on research, legislative tracking and the development of strategy and issue briefs in the areas of environment, transportation, workers' comp, energy, natural resource, agriculture, and privacy policy. He also played an instrumental role at the Chamber in organizing coalitions and developing a grassroots network.
