Daniel O'Day leads Roche Molecular Diagnostics (RMD), headquartered in Pleasanton, California, with facilities and offices in Branchburg, New Jersey, and Rotkreuz, Switzerland. He joined RMD in April 2006.

O'Day worked in Roche's Pharmaceutical Division for 19 years. Immediately prior to working with RMD, he served as head of Roche Pharmaceuticals in Denmark. He spent 11 years in commercial positions in the US, specifically in sales, marketing, and human resources. For eight years, he held international assignments, encompassing a broad range of functions including life cycle leadership in Basel, Switzerland; strategic planning and involvement with the Chugai merger in Tokyo; and general management in Denmark.

In addition to his strong background in Roche Pharmaceuticals, O'Day brings a unique combination of business knowledge, functional experience, and management expertise to RMD. His priorities are to guide the business by identifying ways in which RMD can best serve its customers' needs while demonstrating the medical and economic value of molecular diagnostics in improving the lives of patients.

O'Day holds a bachelor's degree in Biology from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and an MBA from Columbia University in New York.
