Heather Chambers

Chambers joined CHI as communications specialist in June 2010. Chambers is an award-winning journalist who began her career as a business reporter covering the life sciences. Prior to joining CHI, she was the health care reporter for the San Diego Business Journal, where she covered the area’s biotech and medical device companies, hospitals, clinics and research institutes. Before that, Chambers was the North County San Diego reporter for the San Diego Daily Transcript, where she reported on the Randy “Duke” Cunningham scandal, environmental concerns associated with nanotechnology and DJO’s sale to the Blackstone Group. She was part of the founding team of reporters at Today’s Local News, a Copley Press newspaper later folded into the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Her professional affiliations include membership in the Association of Health Care Journalists, San Diego Press Club, SPJ-San Diego and the Public Relations Society of America. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Arizona.
