Nicole Beckstrand joined CHI as director of communications in August 2007. Beckstrand has nine years of public relations, corporate communications and public affairs experience in the life sciences and high tech industries in San Diego. Most recently, she served as manager of public relations for Biosite Incorporated, a leading provider of rapid medical diagnostics and antibody development technologies. Previously, Beckstrand served the City of San Diego as a business and community outreach specialist in the Economic Development Department and was a senior account executive at a life sciences public relations and investor relations firm in San Diego. Beckstrand is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and Health Care Communicators of San Diego County. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of California, San Diego.
